My entry for contest.

Pretty much choose a song or book and draw one of her characters represent the meaning, lyrics, or feeling of the song/book.

Originally I wasn't going to draw Berumel. I was leaning towards one of her other characters. But as I was reading the past of Berumel, Viva La Vida started playin on my Winamp. And it just clicked. xD I saw this image quite vividly, even if it is taking a more literal meaning from the lyrics, but I had to draw it. xD

There's the obvious implication. A fallen King (Prince). However the song is about loosing a love, and thus loosing ones kindom. From what I understand about Berumel, he has no real need for a love (or so he thinks. xD). So I twisted the words 'And I discovered that my castles stand Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand' and tried to bring forth the meaning that even though Berumel seems to have everything, it all truely is built upon pillars of salt and sand. The slightest change could bring it all crumbling down. Thus the storm brewing and about to engulf the Castle, which is there not because Berumel resides in one, but for its symbolic meaning. The blood red moon is to add an ominous feeling to the image.

And forgive my horrible horse anatomy. I need to see if someone who owns horses will let me stand near their field and sketch them. o___o After all, my wolf/dog anatomy improved when I began using my GSD as my model. xD

Probably why my wolves all tend to have GSD anatomy...

Anyways, I hope you like =fictionist I loved the opportunity to draw Berumel, plus I believe I spent longer on this pic than I have on any in quite a while. I'm not one hundred percent happy with the background, but it shows that I can put the effort forth if I just quit getting impatient.

And I noticed I forgot the stitches on his nose. >> I'll change that, promise. xD
